"Rīgas satiksme" fined 5941 fare dodgers in public transport in September

Statistics of "Rīgas satiksme" on ticket checkups in Riga public transport (buses, trolleybuses and trams) in September 2013:

It is by 796 fare dodgers less than in August 2013, when 6737 fare dodgers were fined in public transport.

In September 2013 courts pronounced first verdicts on collecting fines from fare dodgers. Now they will have to pay not only the fine, but also a state duty in the amount of LVL 50 and litigation costs. If the amount to be collected by the court verdict is not paid voluntarily, the case will be referred to bailiffs who will collect the debt.

Just to compare – there were 22257 ticket checkups in August 2013, which is by 431 checkups more than in September 2013.

In September 2013, the maximum number of fined fare dodgers (605) was on tram route No. 6, but the minimum number (0) on bus route No. 34.
